Parents’ Choir

A choir for parents of children with additional needs to give them a chance to enjoy a group musical activity, and have some much needed time for themselves.

Activities:

  • Relaxation techniques to relieve stress
  • Breathing and Sounding exercises to ensure good overall health
  • Learning to sing with others
  • Song writing

Benefits:

The choir helps the parents to deal with the challenges they face through music, relaxation techniques and spending time with others in a similar situation.

Go-Local Community Choir

Run at local charity RUILS which supports older or disabled people

Activities:

  • Relaxation techniques to relieve stress, depression and pain
  • Breathing and Sounding exercises to ensure good overall health
  • Discover your hidden singing voice through singing along with others
  • Drum circles and drama/movement classes

Benefits:

Members of the choir have a chance to meet others, take part in a relaxing and joyful activity and be part of community events.

When: Tuesday 11am- 12am.

Both Choirs are run by Dr Margaret Lobo – Music/Voice Therapist, Director OKMT
The choirs have performed at several events including our OKMT Music School concerts with our Music School pupils at our Summer party, Spring Fair, and RUILS AGM, and received wonderful feedback.
